Born of a deep love of Chicago South Side and uptempo British Invasion blues (think Yardbirds and John Mayall)—plus the many other iterations and extensions of classic Mississippi Delta blues—Barrel of Blues keeps the flame burning for America's very own righteous, foot stompin', booty-shaking music. The band presents a hard rockin', entertaining and highly danceable mix of well-known and not-so-well-known blues and blues-influenced covers along with a growing roster of high-energy originals. It's groovalicious music for what ales you!
After a delightful, nearly five-year run, with a 2016 studio CD, a rockin' live CD recorded at Nissi's in May 2017 and countless memorable shows to its credit, the band is calling it quits.
Five years is awfully good for any band (Cream only lasted for two), but a band member move and some real-life responsibilities and assessments led to this group decision.
Please plan to join us for our last show, Saturday, Oct. 20, at Front Range Brewing Co., in Lafayette, as we return where it all began for us. This will be a fitting send off and final show at Lafayette's first microbrewery.
We are eternally grateful for all of the support we've received from a large group of blues lovers--you all know who you are! And kudos and thanks to all of the great venues we've played over the years--keeping the blues flame and mojo burning! Together, you've made this a most excellent musical adventure.
We hope to see you Saturday, Oct. 20!

Our Nissi's debut on Aug. 27, 2015, was a huge success with a full house and a hoppin' dance floor! Thanks to everyone that came out to see the band!
